Among other things, GarageGames
creates affordable tools and resources for all game developers - especially the indies.
Of particular interest to TOJam is their latest offering, the Torque Game Builder
- formerly Torque 2D.
If ever there was a product that allowed you to create a hardware accelerated 2D game in 3 days, this was it.
We approached GarageGames about offering the TGB to developers that attended the TOJam and they agreed!
In fact, they offered more than we asked for. GarageGames is providing the following:
- 3 free copies of TGB. We will raffle these off on Sunday to anyone that was able to finish a game.
You now have physical incentive!
- A temporary TGB license for attendees that want to use TGB to build their game
(offer now over - it was only available to attendees that registered before April 27).
The license starts April 27 and lasts until May 14th. That's enough time to learn the basics before the Jam,
build your game at the Jam, and then fine tune it after the Jam.
If you've always wanted to try TGB, TOJam is the perfect opportunity!
It's worth noting the regular GarageGames TGB demo does NOT allow you to create games.
If you want to cash in on this special license, be sure to check the box that says
I want to cash in on the Torque Game Builder special
when you register for TOJam.
- If you chose to use TGB, you can purchase a copy at a %25 discount (until May 14th).
Before the price was great, now it's really great.
It's worth noting Jim McGinley (one of the TOJam organizers) will be using TGB at the event.
He can currently setup and explain the basics of TGB - now he's becoming dangerous.
