ALL TOJAM #2 GAMES FINALLY POSTED!
6 NEW GAMES POSTED! Box Wars, Noodle, Mohawk Warrior, Monkey Banana Blitz. Urban Tactics. and Yarrgh!. You guessed it, 'Urban Tactics' is playable right in your browser!
>WHEW< That was a LOT of freaking work! Next year, I'm going to get help putting the pages together. Thanks for your patience, I love you guys!
4 NEW GAMES POSTED!
Super Defender Robo,
Super Market Madness,
I'd be playing them right now if I didn't have to sleep.
Worth noting that both 'Super Defender Robo' and 'Tinkers' are playable right in your browser!
Can you believe it's Monday?!
You may recall that I was originally planning on posting the remaining 10 games en masse. Back then I was young and foolish.
I am still finishing the pages for the final 10 incredible games.
They are looking soooo good I know you'll be impressed.
We've got air pirates, monkeys, noodles, isometric flash, super robos, even some naughty words.
Stay tuned you indie game jam lovin' clown, 'cuz they're all going up en masse.
TOJam Teams infiltrate the Vortex 2007 Game Competition.
Emergency Response Team,
created at TOJam #2, comes FIRST in the Internet category.
5 TOJam XNA Teams recently presented at Microsoft's Energize IT event.
The Energize IT audience was dumbfounded by the genius on display before them.
Read this convenient summary.
New STUFF section added.
It contains a lot of STUFF. MIND BLOWING STUFF.
GOOD GRACIOUS! 6 New Games Posted. sEx, DrUgs & t3cHno!,
Emergency Response Team,
Killer Coding Ninja Monkey,
and Space Goat.
In keeping with recent tradition, Killer Coding Ninja Monkey, Klonequest and Space Goat are all playable in your browser!
For those developers still waiting for their game to be posted, please once again accept my apologies. I was sidetracked by the IGDA TOJam arcade and Energize IT TOJam presentations. I am now shooting for June 24. Suffice to say, I'm saving some of the best for last.
2 New Games Posted. Two By Two and
Tomorrah's Grub await your prying eyes.
"Two By Two" is playable in your browser, so play it already!
I'm hoping these 2 games will distract you from asking the hard questions.
i.e. Weren't all the games supposed to be posted yesterday?
We presented the games at the IGDA Toronto Meeting.
5 laptops, each with every TOJam #2 installed, were available to the audience.
It was like an arcade featuring very strange games!
Next time, we're charging a quarter per play.
Attention TOJam attendees! We will be showing the games at the IGDA Toronto Meeting
this Thursday (June 7). If you can attend, that would be amazing.
You do not need to be a member of the IGDA to attend.
We're hoping to create a TOJam arcade downstairs.
It's a great chance to show your game making talents to an outside audience (including some people in the industry).
Additionally, we are hoping people can bring laptops (with fully charged batteries) to show off all the games. We're planning to setup 7 machines downstairs for people to play. Jim will provide a CD with all the games, and can help with installation when necessary (most games have no install, or a very lightweight install). If you are able to attend, and can bring a machine/laptop, please contact Jim immediately.
Thanks for your patience. Real life is interfering with my ability to rollout the games.
Suffice to say, I will have more posted within the next few days.
Game #8 Posted: TOBam.
Old school gameplay, massive amounts of enemies, and a kick-ass Toronto backdrop.
Source code, a YouTube video, and even an XBox 360 version await you inside.
I bet that you just came from Jay is Games.
According to our recent web statistics, 50% of you were just there.
I applaud your good taste in web sites :)
I started visiting "Jay is Games" about 2 years ago, and quickly got hooked on Grow as a result. You can count on Jay & Team to highlight great games with brand spanking new mechanics. I have no idea how they find them. Perhaps we should consider "TOJam: JayIsGames Edition"
2 New Games Posted. The Last Days of the Earth and
Dance and Crack.
Because we love you, "Dance and Crack" is playable in your browser!
I'm happy to report that ALL the 2007 game files are finally working on MY Windows PC.
Distribution issues are behind us, so we can finally concentrate on creating those awesome game pages.
We should have all game pages posted by June 8 (staggering throughout the week). Your patience is once again appreciated.
You better believe we're saving some of the best until last.
2 New Games Posted. TRISHADE:Aduro and
Giant Robot Battles.
You can even play TRISHADE:Aduro in your browser!
2007 PEOPLE'S CHOICE GAMES POSTED!
What are you waiting for? GO PLAY THEM! The other incredibly super awesome 2007 games will will be rolled out all next week. I'm not doing this to create suspense. I am doing this to buy me some time.
Please visit our updated Sponsors page.
Their ongoing support and generosity knows no bounds.
Big thanks to IADT, GarageGames, The Behemoth, The Game Creators, Team Adrenaline, NVIDIA, Corus U, and IGDA
without whom TOJam would be a lot TOToast.
May 21 Game Posting Slightly Delayed
While we're working hard on creating the game pages, it's taking slightly longer than expected. I'll spare you exact details suffice to say they should be up soon. I'll clarify whether soon means 1 day or 3 days once I'm a little further ahead. The good news is there are a LOT of games, which is why it's taking so long :) Thanks very much for your patience.
Awesome Jacob Karsemeyer came by on Saturday and Sunday to cover TOJam #2.
He took some pictures that can be found here.
They really capture the "grind", and disguise my receding hairline.
He also wrote some nice things here.
People should always feel free to write nice things.
Big thanks to Jacob for checking out our event and we hope to see him next year (in any capacity).
On a related note, don't forget to check out the official TOJam #2 photos that Brendan Lynch took. When people dispute the existence of TOJam, you can now refer them to these photos.

TOJAM #2 HAS FINISHED!
TOJam #2 is officially over! It was AWESOME. You know that dream you have? The one where you're filthy rich and married to a person who you love more deeply than you ever thought possible? TOJam #2 was better than that.
The people that attended TOJam #2 were all amazing. They came to build games, and build games is what they did (by golly!). There was a high level of respect between the teams. Whether you were cranking out a noodle simulation, or an inside out Qix, everyone understood what was involved. I defy you to find a better looking group of people (no disrespect to Jammers 2006).
The games... THE GAMES... OH THE GAMES. We had many amazing games produced this year. We've got all kinds of games. Funny, ambitious, strange, cool, hip and even unplayable! All are worthy of your attention. All the games will be posted May 21st for your downloading amusement. Stay tuned.
|May 6 5:00pm||TOJam #2 has been lucky enough to find an official photographer in Brendan Lynch. His work on Flickr speaks for itself. He has posted 2 photos from TOJam #2 and, as expected, they are amazing . Check them Out!|
|May 6 5:00pm||It's GO time. Everywhere I turn, TTC doors are closing. Everyone is here. The heat is incredible. Some suave bastards actually completed their games last night.|
|May 6 9:00am||My eyes won't open.|
|May 6 4:30am||Tim Horton's run just arrived. Unsure if it will help. There are 19 people staying all night, which is just crazy. 7 are sleeping in improvised beds. aka. the floor. Oranges remain mostly uneaten.|
|May 6 3:30am||Energy drink not as effective as hoped. Now sleeping in the lobby - a programmer who consumed 4 within a half hour.|
|May 5 5:00pm||TWO SPRAINED ANKLES ... yet game making bravely continues. Both sprainees appear are fine and in good hobbly humour.|
|May 5 10:00am||The weather outside is perfect - perfect I say!!! The brave untanned men and woman of TOJam continue to ignore what may go down in history as the greatest weather Toronto has ever seen. These people are committed. Much more committed than myself. Oranges arrive.|
|May 4 Midnight||At least 12 people (crazies?) spent all night working. It's madness.|
|May 4 9:00pm||MAN DOWN! We had our first TOJam casualty. Chris 'ColdAcid' Charabaruk's machine refused to turn on. After several attempts at restarting, it began to spark & smoke. He opened his machine to investigate and found two almost identically sized pieces of broken plastic. Chris summed it up perfectly with this quote "not good". With no extra machines available, Chris was forced to head home. We're all hoping the repairs will be cheap, and Chris will have his computer back soon.|
|May 4 7:00pm||
TOJAM #2 HAS STARTED!
Almost everyone arrived alive, and more importantly, on time! After a touching launch speech, the blitzkrieg began. Given the intensity of the teams, it's safe to say TOJam #2 is going to produce some seriously awesome games. Seriously.
Registration Has Ended
We've hit our limit of 60 people!!! Actually, we reached 62 - but that's where we draw the line. We are physically at the limit of what Corus (god love them) can hold. If you failed to register in time, you can still contact em to be added to the waiting list. No promises, but we'll see what we can do. Of course... there's always T.O. Jam #3.
If you've registered, but feel you can no longer attend, please let em know ASAP. There are others waiting in the wings.

T.O. JAM 2: We be Jammin'
|Your lovely organizers meet to start finalizing details for TOJam #2. We want it bigger. We want it better. We want it now. Of course, what's a meeting without a Baby Jam!
